Here's the rest:

THE NAUGHTY LADY OF SHADY LANE

The naughty lady of Shady Lane
Has hit the town like a bomb
The back-fence gossip ain't been this good
Since Mabel ran off with Tom
Our town was peaceful and quiet
Before she came on the scene
The lady has started a riot
Disturbin' the suburban routine

CHORUS: The naughty lady of Shady Lane
Has the town in a whirl
The naughty lady of Shady Lane
Me-oh, my-oh, what a girl

You should see how she carries on
With her admirers galore
She must be givin' them quite a thrill
The way they flock to her door
She throws those come-hither glances
At every Tom, Dick, and Joe
When offered some liquid refreshment
The lady never never says "no"

CHORUS

The things they're trying to pin on her
Won't hold much water, for sure
Beneath the powder and fancy lace
There beats a heart sweet and pure
She just needs someone to change her
And she'll be nice as can be
If you're in the neighborhood, stranger
You're welcome to drop in and see

The naughty lady of Shady Lane
So delightful to hold
The naughty lady of Shady Lane
So delectable
Quite respectable
And she's only NINE DAYS OLD!

THE NUTTY LADY OF SHADY LANE
(As sung by Homer & Jethro)

The nutty of Shady Lane has hit the town like a rock.
He pa was an electrician and she was his very first shock.
I worship the ground she crawled out of. I wish she'd crawl back agin.
If she's ever down by the river, I sure hope that she will drop in.

CHORUS: The nutty lady of Shady Lane has the town on the go.
The nutty lady of Shady Lane, me, oh, my, oh, what a crow!

One day she bought her a brand new dress. The dress she bought was so thin.
She asked me how I liked the dress. I answered her with a grin:
"Just wait till the sun shines, Nellie." Imagine just how she felt.
The dress it was strapless an' backless. Then she discovered it was a belt. CHORUS

The nutty lady of Shady Lane has gone an' left me behind.
She ran away with a railroad man who fed the lady a line.
An' now when I hear the train whistle, an' as it goes on down the track,
It makes me feel blue an' so worried. I'm afraid he's bringin' her back.

[Recorded by Homer & Jethro on "Let Me Go Blubber," 1963; and "Songs to Tickle Your Funny Bone," 1966.]

Interesting that this song made famous by the Ames Brothers should get talked about on a folk forum.

Was this song recorded by any American folk singers to anyone's knowledge? Hard to imagine for me. The Ames Brothers version is one of the oldest songs I can remember.
