I understood that when they finally broke up Ronnie concentrated on feminist politics and a women's theatre group. I agree about her voice,but then they all had great voices, individually and together. RtS |

I got to jam with Erik at the Folk Alliance in Cleveland, and I'm going to meet Ronnie next week. If that ain't enough to make my day I've gotten to meet Frank Hamilton (who replaced Erik) on Mudcat. She was one of the most gracious, inspiring interviews I've ever done. And what a voice. She's also one of my role models for, as Holly Near says, "just throwing back your head and letting that voice come out." Mary Travers also talked about what an inspiration Ronnie was when I interviewed her last year. Said she thought women folk singers had to be "reedy sopranos" until she heard Ronnie. I wonder if the film that's being shown is "Wasn't that a Time?" Also one of my favorite documentaries. WyoWoman |
