More often used, in my experience, in the Union song, MINER'S LIFEGUARD/Miner's Life, which is in the DT with the tune.

And it was the tune for "H-Bomb's Thunder"...

Neither of them parodies, but new songs build on the sound foundations of the older song.

I went to that site and listened to almost every one of them! Dale, can you tell who or what group is doing 'I'm Using My Bible As A Roadmap'? They sound so familar but I just cannot put a name with them! Thanks...

That site is worth a listen folks..

Banjer, they ought to sound familiar ~~ Don Reno & Bill Harrell. The whole album has these titles, not all are on the site linked by Gene, though. It's on CMH, as you could likely tell from the list of performers. I think the list will be legible without adding any extra html.

Dumb question time--I went to the The Lester S. Levy Collection of Sheet Music: LIFE'S RAILWAY TO HEAVEN, and tried to copy/paste. Wouldn't do it at all to anywhere, not Word, not Notepad, not Paint...so I ended up printing as given and it is sooo tiny I can hardly read it, and on a grey background. I am going to have to transcribe by hand. Any suggestions on what I could do to magnify it?

Hi, Sorcha - that's a real problem with the Levy site - the resolution of their scans is often too poor to read. I contacted them about that a while ago. They say you can contact them (click) if you need something and can't read it online.
If you right-click on a page of music at Levy, you can choose to "save picture as..." You can then open the picture in a graphics program to enlarge and fine-tune it, but I've had only limited success at that.

Oh well, I can do it by hand, it was in a godawful key for a fiddler anyway!

Of course, nobody ever pays any attention to poor, softspoken Dick Greenhaus, a voice crying out in the wilderness, saying,
"It's in the Digital Tradition!"

Oh, and what about that mirror site that has all the sheet music for the Digital Tradition stuff? I forgot how to get there, but I'll think of it before I finish this, I think

I just messed around some with the Levy/Mountain Railroad, and despite trying Photohouse, PhotoDeluxe, and Irfanview, I didn't come up with anything good enough to even call it crap.

(5 minute time out) OK, I'm back, bet you didn't miss me. Didn't find it there anyway, but here is an example of what they DO have, this one for Lulu Walls Links at top and bottom of the page will get you to all they have there, but only those songs that have (with tune) listed afterward have ABC, SongWright, PostScript, DVI, or a MusicTeX fragment) Pennywhistle notation and Dulcimer tab.

(so where is the MUSIC in the DT? I did look, but I did not go to the Mirrior) With Super Search down, things are a bit difficult.

There isn't any in the DT, just in the mirror site I linked above.

Oh, Duh. I shoulda thunka that, except that I don't use Yet Another Digital Tradition (click) for converting DigiTrad tunes because I like 'em the way they are.
There's a link to "Yet Another" on our links page - that site converts our tunes into any format you might be able to imagine.
