28 Apr 00 - 11:55 PM (#219890) Subject: RE: name that CD From: Rick Fielding OK, that does it! I'm going to find that old copy of "Popular Mechanics", turn to the back page where it says "get your high school diploma", and get a mail-order education! Screw this stupid music business, the only way to make a million is to start with two million! By the way, one of the folk magazine reviews (not the Sing-Out one) liked the new album but said the cover was "sacriligious"!! Jeez ya can't joke around too much! Rick |

29 Apr 00 - 10:56 AM (#220020) Subject: RE: name that CD From: Jim the Bart This might seem to come out of left field(ing), but we have plenty of mechanics in this world and not nearly enough - what is it you do again? Kidding,is all. To broach a new subject to the respected Mr. Fielding - we are in desperate need of better folk and blues oriented radio in Chicago. Unless I'm missing it (and I miss a lot)I don't think your show is available here, except online. We get some good syndicated stuff (Thistle and Shamrock, American Backroads, Big Top Chautaqua)from time to time but not nearly often enough. Any chance you could find an outlet here? WDCB from the college of DuPage would hopefully be open to suggestions. I have nothing to listen to on the radio when the boys monopolize the computer. Peace. |

01 May 00 - 03:21 AM (#220674) Subject: RE: name that CD From: Barbara Say, Rick, is this something that happens to you at regular intervals? Like -- we're all being clever, having just discovered the concept, and you've been hearing these ever since the first recess in kindergarten? My maiden name was Brown, and I think I've heard every pun, as well as too many renditions of "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter" and "Charlie Brown" (Why's ever'body allus pickin' on ME?) Blessings, Barbara |
