30 Apr 00 - 06:28 PM (#220485) Subject: Lyr Add: O SUSANNA From: mactheturk Well, I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee, And I'm bound for Louisiana, my own true love for to see. It did rain all night the day I left. The weather was bone dry. The sun was so hot I froze my self. Suzann' don't you break down and cry. Well I had myself a dream the other night when everything was still. I thought that I saw my girl Suzann' comin' round the hill. Oh, the buckwheat cake was in her mouth, a tear was in her eye. I thought that I saw my girl Suzann'. Please don't you break down and cry.

01 May 00 - 09:55 AM (#220736) Subject: RE: Oh Suzannah From: GUEST,Steve Latimer I had the pleasure of meeting Willie Nelsons guitar player, Jody Payne after one of their shows. Jody is a native of Alabama. Like me, he is an avid golfer and we talked more golf than music. Of course they get to play the best courses in the world. I told him if they ever need a bad banjo player but good guy to golf with in the band that I'm their man. He replied that they already have a bad banjo player, him. He then mentioned that he has a banjo tatoo, and asked me to guess where. I couldn't guess, so he said it's on my knee of course. I should have guessed. Great guy. Taj Mahal does a really neat version of Oh, Susanna. |
