30 Jun 97 - 09:59 AM (#7741) Subject: RE: over the hill From: kiwi@unagi.cybernothing.org Alison, in the version that I have by Double Indemnity, there is a second verse, though I don't know if it's part of Pete Seeger's original..

30 Jun 97 - 08:26 PM (#7812) Subject: RE: over the hill From: rich r Good to have the option of another verse. Only the single verse is listed in "The Bells of Rhymney and Other Songs adn Stories from the singing of Pete Seeger" (1964) and the more recent "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" also by Pete. His recordings only have that verse also, he extends the song by playing it on a recorder, tin whistle or something similar. rich r |

01 Jul 97 - 10:39 AM (#7849) Subject: RE: over the hill From: dick greenhaus For yet another, look in the database for [foggy dew]; the one listed as Irish 2 is much older than Seeger's, and older than the revolutionary Foggy Dew. John McCormack recorded it. 2 verses |
