Actually, though, there is a high incidence of allergies and respiratory problems here on the Big Island. Biggest culprits are dust and mold (lots of mold in Hilo, where we get 150 inches of rain a year), and also vog (=volcanic smog, caustic chemicals burped out by Madame Pele at an enormous rate).
