Subject: Lyr Add: RUN FOR THE WHITEHOUSE
From: GreatGoo
I saw the thread on Dubya and Lead Belly and of course, I had to post my Dubya tunes, which I did, under that thread. Then I got to thinking, there must be a plethora of such songs in the Mudcats and if there was ever a year for such things this is it. I will lead off with one of mine, who will follow suit?
Sing to, "Run for the Roses"
It starts in the midwest At the Iowa caucus First of the straw poles The nobody's in Then to the north east The vote in New Hampshire They say if you take it You'll surely win (Chorus) It's the run for the whitehouse The prize of the poli's The place of the PACmen All swimming in cash In the land of spin doctors There's no greater challenge Than to put some contestant in there It's the run for the whitehouse, I'm scared Down to the south Is the land of the donkeys Though Gee Dubya Pacaderm Hails from down there The pickin's are slim But the numbers keep mounting No quarter is shown If you want to win Chorus They made Super Tuesday For a media frenzy It wears out our will To think and to vote Quite soon in the process Primaries are pointless The parties now know Who it is they'll promote Chorus The voice of the people Comes late in November But nobody listens Past nine Eastern time Tis the voters that live In Electoral College That give us the president They have in mind Chorus GreatGoo
