Desert Island discs?

I don't know if a topic of this type has ever been posted here, but I thought I would bring it up.

I host a radio show called "Traditions" on WFDU-FM. A listener asked me to give him my 5 "essential" folk recordings of all time - the recordings that I would want with me if I were stranded on a desert island somewhere.

Depending on the day of the week, I would have a different selections. It is a tough question, but I thought I would pose it to this illustrious group!

What albums/CD's would you choose? I'm not asking for the top 5 albums of all time, but rather for your personal choice for 5 albums/CD's that you would take with you. Since it's a personal question there can be no disagreements. I'm curious as to what everyone would choose.

Do a Forum search, Ron, and you will find a number of these. No reason not to start another one, but you might enjoy them.

yours, Peter T. (The simplified rules for guys here seem to be that you get to take the Bible, Shakespeare, and Emmylou Harris, and after that the choices tend to diversify....)

My apologies... I have a feeling my listener may be lurking out there!! I should have done that search first!

Peter T, I thought it was the Bible, Robert HeinLein, and Emmylou Harris.
