Doing something different next week - will visit Halifax on Tuesday and Moncton on Wednesday. Could any 'Catter recommend restaurants or sites to see in either place? I understand Halifax is one of the nicest harbors in North America and since I might not have the chance to get back there again any time soon, would like to know what not to miss! MarkS

Try O'Carrolls. Roger Stone and Dave Dobson will be entertaining with a mixture of '70s music and Cape Breton Celtic music. It serves excellent food. Toni's the bartender and quite lovely.

Go to Digby for the clams or the halibut steak. Eat the vegatables grown locally. A flavor not to be misses. This is a bucolic part of the world. Enjoy!

And please tell them thank you for fishing all those survivors out of the sea after all those shipwrecks and blown up planes and everything. Those folks have been known to drill holes in their floors to handle the water after disasters rather than worrying about their belongings when the lives of others were at stake. I'd love to visit there. Tell us about it after, will you?

You are in luck. The tall sips are in Halifax starting the 19th (but there should be some interesting stuff on the 18th). Prepare to be crammed up again thousands of other humans.

Oh, yeah. And when you're in Moncton, be sure to visit the hospital where I was born. I think there's a monument...

Mark. The Food Court at the Historic Properties in Halifax is quite good. I endorse Georges choice of O'Carrols but would add the seafood and pizza at the Historic properties too. Enjoy your visit, if you see my boat "Heart of Oak" come aboard.. Yours, Aye. Dave
