Does anyone have a nice midi or whatever of this that someone can link to...a rendition of someone singing it would be great...it would be linked to a site for families of POWs...

Mary, I wish I could be more helpful, but since I've got the Incredible String Band on the brain just now (other recent threads will testify to that!) I just thought I'd mention that ISB incorporated "Keep the Homefires Burning" into their war-time epic "Darling Belle" on the album "Liquid Acrobat As Regards the Air." Hopefully someone else can find you a link. Best, Margaret

Well, I felt guilty for not being more helpful so I found Keep the Homefires Burning That should bring you right to the Canada Remembers Chorus singing just the chorus twice rather lugubriously via real audio. The complete text of the song may be found by going to the website (www.melodylane.net) and looking under the WWI category. There, now I can go to sleep without feeling I had posted frivolously (assuming the link works). Margaret

Mary, this is a link to a midi file of the song.

Margaret V, a truelly wonderfull track (story) and one well worth a listen. It conjures all sorts of pictures (I especially like the 'laughing at loud smells' line).
Cheers
