...to kill a thread? Although there have been many who thought otherwise, the answer is not yet known.

it take to change a lightbulb?.......well, first they have to sing about how good the old one was.......then how many lives were lost changing the present lightbulb and then about how we should never have moved on from oil lamps in the first place :)

if a light bulb needs changing, Max will write a software program which will monitor it and note "number of threads since last changed"......then Bert will write a bulb-changing chanty...then we will debate whether changing it will offend any socio-religious groups...then the bulb will have thread-crept into last week, and it will take a super search to find it....finally, we'll have an auction of someone's guitar and hire an electrician to wire a new fixture beside the old one and put a NEW light bulb in it, thus avoiding the decision.

Then you'll propose a thread about it and the 'cat system will tell you ALT!!!Let me check if other threads on the subject have been made...And we'll bounce back on this thread. And wait.we still have to check the Digitrad...

Well, lemme see...
One will write a long post in order to spark (sorry) discussion of how people feel about changing light bulbs. (Is it a good or bad thing, who's job is it anyway?)
2 people will ask Max to change the light bulb, and
1 (Max) will say he doesn't want to control what goes on here, and it's up to all of us to change the light bulb if that's what we want.
3 people will say that the light bulb isn't getting changed while we're sitting here talking about it.
1 person will flame (sorry again) saying light bulbs aren't an appropriate topic of discussion here. 27 people will reply, saying light bulbs are part of life, and folk music is about life, so it's a perfectly appropriate subject. 6 people will write songs about a) the old light bulb, b) hopes for a brighter tomorrow, c) the process of changing the light bulb (including a "ligt bulb changing chantey"). There will be one humerous song involving someone who decides to change the bulb by cutting a hole in the roof and lowering himself through. The song will involve ropes, bags of cement, and large medical bills.
1 person will mention that sitting in the dark is sometimes fun, which will bring about "The Mudcat Cave" thread.
The thread will eventually peter out and be revived again the next year. Someone will then notice that
1 person (probably Joe Offer) snuck in and changed the bulb 5 minutes after the first post.

The Swamp Song is a instrumental by Oasis. You can hear it as the unnamed bridge on the album What's The Story Morning Glory?. The full version is on the Wonderwall single. I'd say "import single" but you are where they import it from! It's a blues influenced jam with Peter Weller on harmonica and VERY distorted electric guitar. Of course I as an Oasis fan LOVE it, but it would probably annoy the heck out of a fan of ANY kind of music! At some points it sounds like a musical trainwreck! It's the ultimate musical torture for Oasis-haters! BWA HA HA HA HA!!! (I don't do physical violence)

Steps are a five piece boy/girl band who've had a number one over here with Heartbeat/Tragedy back on Jan 3 1999. They've also won a Brit award for Best selling Live Act after their record breaking arena tour. To find out more,go to www.stepsofficial.com

S Club 7 are, as the name suggests, a 7 piece boy/girl band, who've had one number one with their debut single Bring It All Back, on June 13 1999. They've had two hit TV series, Miami 7 and LA7, and won the Brit award this year for best newcomer. To find out more, go to www.sclub.com

There you go! I don't know how to do the click thing for the web addresses though!
