Tune Req: Red Haired Boy

I am currently learning to play Red Haired Boy.
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest some artists who have recorded Red Haired Boy so I can listen to different versions of this tune.

Thanks,
Bonnie

BB, David Bromberg recorded a nice version,as part of the medley Yankee's Revenge, on his Midnight on the Water LP (w/ Jay Ungar on some hot fiddle) and Doc and Merle Watson and Tony Rice put out versions of it somewhere.

Thanks Roger, I never realized you could do a MP3 search on tunes. I'll make note of it. Right now I am listening to Beverley Conrad's version of Red Haired Boy. This is very helpful!
Many thanks,
Bonnie

No I didn't until you asked your question. Thanks for that. I was certainly suprised at how effective the search would be and how many versions of the tune you would be able to hear on MP3 back to back. Just the job.........

Bonnie, I'm curious. I play a clawhammer arrangement of Red Haired Boy by Ken Perlman (whose method book I'm using). Are you playing clawhammer? Also, the melody of Red Haired Boy is a song: the Little Beggarman which can be found here in the digitrad. So if you sing, you'll have a song you can do once you learn to play it! Have fun, Margo

I played it on a compilation project of amateur home recording enthusiasts, all of whom use minidisc multitrackers. I played the fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and bass (not necessarily well!) in a medley of Salt Creek and Red-Haired Boy. Those minidisc guys, most of whom play techno-stuff and have never heard old-time fiddle tunes, were stunned. The URL is here: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/62/mtmd_exchange.html

How does 'Red Haired Boy' relate to 'Little Beggarman'? I am not always able to tell the difference...

@play, the Little Beggarman has the exact same tune as Red Haired Boy. Or was that not your question? Margo
