I just want to thank everyone for all of the support earlier this year. JU completed his cancer treatment in April. All of his testing since then shows no sign of cancer. We created a true home grown network of support from a multitude of people to support them financially and emotionally and it seems to have worked quite well. He went from being terminal to living a regular life again in 6 months. Their family is doing great and the music is back in our lives. I firmly believe that community spirit made a great difference.

Thank you, Kristi

We have uploaded a few songs that were performed at the Florida Folk Festival this past May on MP3 and IUMA. Most of the songs feature Sarah Thomas singing with JU introducing them. They can be found at either site by searching for Upsala. We are moving on with our lives and music. The Mudcat helped me tremoundously during this difficult time. I thank you all again. All the best,

I had a great conversation with JU at the Fla. Folk Festival in May. He was almost like his old self and the music of Upsala was great. We were camped right across from them (Klez Kamp) and could hear them playing well into the night.

Kristi!!! That is most excellent news!!! You guys sounded great at the Florida Folk Festival. I was camped just the other side of the Folk Lorries and I swooned all night over the band's music! JU was in fine form and smiling like a Halloween pumpkin. Maybe I'll see you at the Alachua Fiddler's Convention. We (me and SO)are going to Tampa to hear Gove Scrivenor that weekend and we may come home by way of Crystal Lake. Abby, with the autoharps

Troll...I was your band's stage hand at the Marble Stage and you guys were a ball! You all rolled in just in time to put on a great show! harpgirl

Harpgirl...sorry I didn't get more time to talk to you. We actually went on stage three members short- the trumpet player had locked his keys in the car at a rest stop on the interstate and he the clarinet and the cello made it just in time for the second number. That was a wild set. The whole stage crew deserves big snogs for the great job of setting us up under that kind of pressure. We were all stressed to the max.

Troll, I really wanted to get out to hear you guys at the festival, but the mis-step I took out of the camper on day one put an end most of my listening plans. The crutches were an addition I could have done without especially at about 3 in the morning to get to the bathroom, but the weekend was great. I think the highlight for me was the singing Amazing Grace in the new bathrooms at 2 am. I can't wait for next year.

We will be at the Fiddler's convention in a few weeks. then the Barberville festival followed by Wings and Strings.

Pete, good to hear from you. Life is good again. Kristi
