Lyr Req: I Vow To Thee, My Country

I am looking for the lyrics to "I Vow To Thee, My Country". I heard it on Charlotte Church's first album "Voice of an Angel" but can't quite make out the words. It is credited to Gustav Holst. Any background would be great too. Thanks in advance!

music by holst - lyrics by cecil spring-rice

I vow to thee, my country,
All earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect,
The service of my love:
The love that asks no question,
The love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar
The dearest and the best;
The love that never falters,
The love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted
The final sacrifice.

2. And there's another country,
I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her,
Most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies,
We may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart,
Her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently
Her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness
And all her paths are peace.

It's the melody in Gustav Holst's Jupiter. It was sung at Diana's wedding and funeral. You can hear the hymn at the Cyber Hymnal, and you can hear Holst's Planets, Jupiter at The Classical Midi Connection. (You have to fast forward about 3 1/2 minutes to get to the familiar part.)

The tune in the hymn book is just called Thaxted - a small village in Essex, and you can hear a rendition of it if you can get the BBC, on Remembrance Sunday, Songs of Praise.... watch out for a short person with spikes in her hair, singing this with fervour, and a hand over her heart - nothing whatsoever to do with the Princess of Wales.

LTS - as seen on T.V..... shortly!
