22 Oct 00 - 06:32 PM (#324821) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Possible Name'Take Me Back to Calvar From: Barbara It makes me think of "I walked in the garden alone", the chorus of which is "And He walks with me and He talks with me, and he tells me I am His own, and the joys we share as we tarry there, no other has ever known." Could it be that the first word is not "Take" but "Carry" or some other word? Blessings, Barbara |

Louie, did you have a thread about this hymn before....a while ago? Just was wondering as when I went to type the various search phrases they were already in my google memory!!! If it wasn't you then there might have been some results for someone else....somewhere in another thread... All the very best with your search, Yvonne |
22 Oct 00 - 07:13 PM (#324846) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Possible Name'Take Me Back to Calvar From: Mary in Kentucky ...and I've done the Google thing too! no luck. I'm familiar with a lot of the old Southern gospels and hymns, but this one doesn't ring a bell. I don't think it will be in a hymnbook. I have a few gospel songbooks to look in...do you have a tune? Also, where are you from? Many of the old songs are unique to the South, or the mountains, etc. I suspect it will turn up in an old music book at a yard sale, church basement or estate sale. Barbara - I don't think it's "In the Garden" although that word "tarry" is in it. I'll keep an ear out and mention it to some of my "old time gospel" friends. In the meantime, don't forget to check back here. Mary |

The google-god will probably start inventing something to answer the huge number of questions about it because I did the google thing too. Helen |

I have my "scouts" in South Carolina looking for it. Here in Kentucky we see people and songs passing through as they're moving west. |
