This song is about mining in North East England. I can remember the tune vividly but the words have escaped. I would love to sing this as my voice is ideal for the song. Thanks to anyone who can help - John

Aah think "Wrap hor te bank" is correct. Refors te "wrapping" the cable roond the winding drum te pull the cage up the pit shaft. Bob

It's usually rap - as in the signal given on the cables by hitting them with a piece of metal (produced by some as the original rapper as in rapper dancing) to indicate that they wish to ascend.
