HI GUYS, WE'VE ONLY GOT ONE DAY TO GO TILL OUR FIRST CALEDONIAN MUDCATTERS GATHERING!!!

GREETINGS FROM SCOTT AND IAN
ANYWAY... Here's the plan...
PLACE: St Andrews.
Date: Sat 11th November 2000.
Time: 13.00hrs-14.00 hrs (1.00 in the afternoon to you non-technophobes)
Plan of Action: We meet at the TUDOR INN, North Street, St Andrews, at the above time (instructions for late arrivals will follow).
We'll play/session/sing etc for a few hours.. go for a meal... play/session/sing etc for a few hours.. then find ourselves somewhere to while the evening away.
MUCH IMPORTANTE... The manager of the Tudor Inn has not came back to me with a definite "yes" to our informal meeting, but we will meet there INITIALLY anyway.
If the venue is not to our liking, or the manager asks us to leave, we'll trail round St Andrews till we find a venue which suits!
If and when we leave the Tudor Inn, any latecomers can find us easily... we'll try and leave our location with the barstaff of the Tudor Inn, but you can also contact me (Ian) on my mobile (If it works in St Andrews).
Number is 07801 924446. (Write this number down now!)
ALSO MUCHO IMPORTANTE... APPEND YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THIS INFO BELOW, SO WE CAN TELL WHO'S COMING ETC.(Plus we want this thread to be at the top for the next day or so!!!!)
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME ALONG, BRING A FRIEND, BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT TIME, REGARDLESS.
All the best to you all... Calach/Ian
For identification on Sat, you can see what Scott and I look like from our photos on mudcat resources, but you'll probably recognise us anyway.(Us Folkies have our own "look".)

Should be there once I've fitted the new exhaust to the Land Rover!

My friend (from Canada) just called from Scotland to say she'll be arriving by bus from Edinburgh on the 11th and is looking forward to joining you all. As I explained to Jock in a pm..I told her the Tavern Inn instead of the Tudor Inn. If you see a lost soul wandering from place to place that'll be her! Have a great time everyone and thanks for hooking my friend up with what I think will be the highlight of her trip! ...LL

I'll be there, of course, with as many friends as I can drag along...

I can't tell you how much I would love to be there. I can't make the trip just now. But if you see a glimmer of something out of the corner of your eye, that will be my spirit hovering nearby.

Will be attending by mobile (she says, dutifully refreshing for her fast asleep darlin') Have a great time all!

Oh, how I wish I could be there with you all! But next week I get Ewan McVicar and most of the Mudcatters of the northeastern US, so I won't complain!

Well, for the record it went, was small but fun, and I think it was agreed we should try it again some time!

Cheers, all!

Yup! The first Scottish gathering was small... but perfectly formed (as they say)
Big thanks to all who turned up; we played/sang from 1.30 in the afternoon to around 10.30 at night. Nationalities represented were Scots, English, USA, and Canada. We even broadcast some 20 mins to the USA via mobile phone!
Hope to see more at the next, next Saturday at Leadburn!
Ian/Calach.

Reminds me of the first time I did a "coast-to-coast_ hook-up. A bunch of us were recovering from exams in the local, and singing those raunchy songs that seem to permeate grad schools the world over. Some guy happened in, heard us singing, and asked if we'd sing a particularly raunchy one to a friend in California. Turned out the guy had just gotten out of the navy, and didn't much care for his then ex-CO. Anmyhow, the guy called him on the phone, and the bunch of us "seranaded" him as only a bunch of inebriated grad students could do. I'm certain your "trans-oceanic performance" was on a much higher plane. Good on ye lads & lasses.

I wouldn't be so sure, paddymac - we had a run of pretty tasteless ones in there.

Yes, Lyrical Lady, your friend found us indeed, and I hope she enjoyed herself.
