It's a very busy edition of Folk Roots/Folk Branches this week.

We'll have a recorded concert with JESSE WINCHESTER from the Champlain Valley Folk Festival. We'll hear a section of the concert in each hour of the show.

In the second hour, we'll also have an in-studio visit with MICHAEL JEROME BROWNE, one of the finest and most knowledgeable performers of traditional blues.

There'll be lots of other great music on the show from the likes of Dave Alvin, Sam Bush, Johnny Cash, Cephas & Wiggins, Herdman/Hills/Mangsen, David Johansen & the Harry Smiths, Kieran Kane, the Klezmer Conservatory Band, Klezperanto, the Persuasions, John Prine, Ann Rabson, Sylvia Tyson, Gillian Welch & Alison Krauss, and more.

Folk Roots/Folk Branches is normally heard on Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:30 (eastern) on CKUT, 90.3 FM in Montreal, and in RealAudio from the Folk Roots/Folk Branches website.

Since August 31, we've been extended until noon on alternate weeks. This is an alternate week, so we're on until noon.

That'll be 2-5 pm in London, England, 8-11 am in Chicago, Illinois and 6-9 am in Bolinas, California.

I missed it, and I'm sorry again, especially for today. MJ Browne may not be well-known by many, but I must say it's the more fabulous bluesman I ever saw in show. Just to say to mudcatters to have a look at his website - I think there's a link on Mike's page.
