A Christmas Card to all Mudcatters

Subject: A Christmas Card to all Mudcatters
From: Barry T

I'd go broke if I sent cards to all the folks here who deserve a little thanks... make that a lot of thanks... for managing and contributing to the Mudcat and its wealth of resources.

So here is my way of expressing my best wishes for all of you... a little visual and musical imagery to help you escape the holiday frenzy for just a moment or two.

Yes, it's last year's 'card', but it proved popular, so I've republished it on my website. Feel free to link to it if you want to 'send' it to friends.

I think I can say, without qualification, that is the coolest card I've ever received.

I get one of those for my pitiful contributions to the Mudcat? Now that is a bargain!

Merry Christmas

Got the music but no visual. Must have something to do with the firewall at work.

Barry! I missed it last year, so I've waited an entire year to see it! Thanks.

Beautiful!! Can I set it as wallpaper? Prettiest picture I've ever seen. Much nicer than Blue Mountain stuff. Thanks, and Good Holidays to all of you from me, too. (I just hijacked Barry's thread....;)

Sorcha...

Visit the CloudEight website and look for Wonder Screens on the menu. This one is called Active-Rural Snow. You can download and install this as an 'active' desktop. There are some great stationery designs, screensavers and wallpaper there... all free. Certainly worth a visit!

Has it only been a year, Barry, since you told me about Cloud Eight, after you posted this card? I've gotten so much beautiful email stationery from them since then, it seems longer ago!

Thanks and best of the season to you all.

Dear Barry, I'm sitting here in my tiny studio and there's this incredible electronic picture and music coming out of my computer--it's such an odd feeling to be connected through this technology in such an emotional way, without ever meeting you and everyone else in person. I'm still not used to it. The snow made me cry, especially when it does that little jog to the left. Thanks.

Thank you Barry. My back yard kinda sorta looked just like that on Saturday! All the best of the season to you. Don't forget about the big 'doo' across the pond from you on Jan.27th! LL

It's lovely! I got the picture and no sound, but my "expert" is home from uni, so I'll set him on. Anyway, it doesn't need music. Snow is quiet. At least the last time I remember us having any it was. The latest white stuff we've had here is fog!

Happy Christmas to everybody!

Andrea

I can't view or listen to your card, but I send your greetings back to you as I look out my window and see the 3D world snow that is falling outside as I type.

The scene out my window is not quite so charming... Daylight, and my neighbors' travel home, as well as their tractor, our woodpile and sheep shelter, but it IS snowing, the kids are home, and a lovely choir is singing on the radio. Happy Christmas to you, too.

Thanks, Barry. Merry Christmas to you and to all. I recently stumbled across Mudcat, and its like a huge Christmas present. Who would have thought to find a wonderful thing like this inside a computer? The machine may have its uses after all.
