Yup, she roped me into this. Funny thing is, I'm willing to bet I have a greater knowledge than her about Folk and Blues, what with my strange tastes in music an 'all! :)

welcome, welcome, welcome. I think you'll find the discussions and activitiesx here ecletic, stimulating and aggravating. But all in all, unless the 'possum farts - it's a pretty good place.

Possum up a 'simmon tree, raccoon on the ground
Raccoon says to Possum, won't you shake them 'simmons down?

Welcome, Dragar!

Welcome to a great forum. However, not the best place for the fragile or the needy.

It's the BEST place for the needy- those in need of song words and information, support during difficult times, friends to share good times...

You must have missed the threads I've been reading, Russ!

Welcome, Dragar!

Hi Dragar, welcome..and if you know Kc you should be ok, there are a few old Bluesmen/women get in here, so that should be useful...

Welcome! If you've always wondered about something, ask. If you know the answer to a question, please share. (Psst, Mrrzy:"...Possum says, "You ring-tailed thing, what do you think I be? Come up here and get 'em yourself and don't be bothering me!");)

Thanks for all the greetings, folks! This sounds like a fun lovin' bunch of people. :)

So, do tell...how blues/folk orientated is this place? I myself am more into sixties/seventies pop (odd for someone of my mere teenage years, mmm?) such as The Eagles, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel etc. though I do occasionally listen (or play) more folky stuff, such as Bob Dylan, Fairport Convention etc.

Noreen, OK I'll take back needy, but fragile stays.

Dragar, as to how folk/blues oriented one must be, we're like Unitarians in religion: We have no creedal test. Indeed, the unspoken motto here is, "If you can stand us, we can stand you!"

Russ, I'll let you have fragile- but only on the same basis as parts of the 3D world are not the best place for the fragile. I've admitted to very 'fragile' moments here and never had anything but wholehearted support.

Dragar- sounds like you'll get on just fine. Very wide range of tastes in music here, and other things...
