From: GUEST,cece I've heard many different takes: that the Rose of Allandale was a woman, or was a ship; maybe a ships figurehead, maybe Parnell's mistress. Does anyone know the origin of the song and what or who the Rose is? I'd like to present some background when we sing it "out". Thanks ! Cece |
