30 Jan 01 - 07:39 AM (#385563) Subject: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: bigchuck This week's CatConcert, which is the first of the spring concert season, will feature IvanB. The concert will commence at 8:00PM EST, and will be held in the Mudcat Concert Room on PalTalk, which will be opened around 7:30. To reach the concert room, you will need to check the "show adult groups" box and enter the password, which is "marmot". I hope to see many of you there. Sandy |
30 Jan 01 - 07:45 AM (#385565) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: Midchuck Best let 'em know you mean tomorrow night (unless the date has just now been changed)! With no date in your post, you're gonna get people trying to find the concert tonight, and really confused. (Sorry, folks! The poor guy will get on the net without his keeper handy, no matter what we tell him.....) Peter |
30 Jan 01 - 08:26 AM (#385583) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: SINSULL Careful Midchuck. He's bigger 'n you. And those quiet mellow types can get mean when they are crossed. Besides, if his post is dated January 30, it is safe to assume the concert is the 31st. See you there. For anyone who hasn't heard Ivan, you are in for a treat. |
30 Jan 01 - 08:28 AM (#385585) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: MMario Calendar has it posted for the first of February. That would be THURSDAY - *TWO* nights from now...if I am correct. If I am not *never mind* |
30 Jan 01 - 08:50 AM (#385598) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: Midchuck Actually, I was wrong too; 2/1 (1/2 if you're one of those confused Brits) is Thursday, day after tomorrow. See, you try to help someone out and you get buried in piddling details.... And yes, he's bigger than me, but he can't catch me. He can, however, take my instruments to work on them, and keep them indefinitely...but that gives me an exuse to buy more..... Peter. |
30 Jan 01 - 09:00 AM (#385602) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: MMario BTW - to all the 'chucks ~ Have a Happy St. Phillip of Puxatawny Day on the 2nd! |
30 Jan 01 - 09:22 AM (#385619) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: Midchuck Thank you, and you're all invited to the Peacham, VT, Groundhog's day dinner, Friday evening, at which we will hold forth at some length with fiddles and guitars and mandolins and howling...and maybe banjo, if I've failed to teach bigchuck any common civility yet... Peter. |
30 Jan 01 - 10:06 AM (#385645) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: GUEST,Bigchuck at work MMario is, of course, correct. AND Midchuck isn't he he he. The concert is on Thursday, Feb. 1. I was just being efficient and posting early, but in the early morning fog....... Sandy |

31 Jan 01 - 11:35 PM (#387224) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: IvanB Just to assure everyone, yes, IvanB knows when his concert's scheduled :-) I'll be doing a mixture of traditional, neo-traditional and Stephen Foster songs (although Not as many as Mary would like, I'm sure). I'll also be doing Mudcatter Jeri's 'My Mother's Garden,' which she wrote in response to a post from bet about her mother. For UK'ers or others who can't make it Thursday night, I'll be doing a partial dress rehearsal on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Mudcat time (I believe that's 9:00 p.m. GMT). I won't be doing all the songs from the concert, but a few of them, and anybody who shows up will probably be pressed into service checking sound levels, etc. Hope to see a good group of you at one time or another. Remember, the Mudcat Concert Room is password protected. The password to enter the room is 'marmot'. Also, you must have 'Show Adult Groups' checked at the bottom of the Group list in order to see the concert room. |

Someone borrowed my sweater worn to cover the more obvious tears. Some nonsense about a huge yellow bra too. No need to get into it. Jeans and a sweater Ok? |

02 Feb 01 - 08:51 AM (#388176) Subject: RE: CatConcert 12: Ivan B From: SINSULL Mick, Ivan thanked you for putting him on to Brian Nolan (?) and his music. He sang at least two songs that he had learned from you. One was about Irish immigrants dying in an isolation "hospital" in Canada. I recently read a book called "The Great Hunger" which documented in dry historian terms and graphic detail the sufferings of those who left and those who stayed during the potato famine. His song brought me to tears. Where were you??? |
