19 Mar 01 - 10:35 PM (#421269) Subject: RE: LyrReq: The Old Songs From: Malcolm Douglas Harold: Usually it's best to start a new thread when asking about a different song, rather than asking a question in a discussion about something else; also, we have a very good search engine (the "Digitrad and Forum Search" on the main Forum page) which will often find things for you if you give it a try. A search for sunshine of your smile came up with this: Sunshine of Your Smile -the song was written in 1913, apparantly, so may well be the one you're looking for. There's also a set of sheet music at the Lester Levy Sheet Music Collection which you might like to have a look at: THE SUNSHINE OF YOUR SMILE (Leonard Cooke / Lillian Ray, 1915) Malcolm (Email sent, because I'm in a good mood; as a rule I expect people to come back to see if anyone has answered their question, rather than expect us to do all the work!) |
19 Mar 01 - 11:20 PM (#421284) Subject: RE: lyrics for sunshine of your smile From: GUEST,Harold Schuller ThANKS Thank you so much! Yes! That is the song! A fellow called Malcom sent me an e-mail and told me to go into the site since there had been a reply to my query. I rarely use these sites. I am an author and basically uee the compute as a word processor and to access sites for info on the places i write about. In my present book, angela jackson, an angel returned to earth, sincs all songs and all music inthe style odf the genre and the time. She is a singing angel! I remember how the music goes but if I could get a tape or a midi where it is sung in the old style I would be overjoyed. So: Is it the same song that Sinatra recorded in 1980 or therabouts? Thank you, R. Harold Schuller |

24 Sep 07 - 11:55 AM (#2156348) Subject: Lyr Add: THE SUNSHINE OF YOUR SMILE (Cooke, Ray) From: Peace THE SUNSHINE OF YOUR SMILE (L.Cooke / L.Ray) Mike Berry Dear face that holds so sweet a smile for me Were you not mine, how dark this world would be I know no light above that could replace Love's radiant sunshine in your lovely face. Give me a smile, the love-light in your eyes Life could not hold a sweeter paradise Give me the right to love you all the while My world forever, the sunshine of your smile. Shadows may fall across the land and sea Sunshine from all the world may hidden be But I shall see no clouds across the sun Your smile shall light my life till life is done. Give me a smile, the love-light in your eyes Life could not hold a sweeter paradise Give me the right to love you all the while My world forever, the sunshine of your smile My world forever, the sunshine of your smile. |
