Hi,

Can anyone give me the chords for the Saw Doctors song I Useta Lover ?

I have the lyrics from the database.

Cheers.

Seany, can you put in a link to it, please? (Or paste the URL here). I can't find it- did you mean it's in the DT?

A friend of mine does a great version of this song- could ask him next week for the chords if no-one else comes up with the goods sooner.

I'm not offering anything constructive, but the Saw Doctors, Liverpool, around December 1993, was my first gig!! I was about 15, but my mum bought me a pint of lager anyway, because the occasion demmanded it. One of my faves is N17.

See ya later.

This is just a quick off the top of my head interpretation of how we do it...with no guarantee about whether the guitars are in tune or not....

      G
I have fallen for another
C
She can find her own way home

And even if she asked me now
G
I might let her go alone

I used to follow her up the chapel
C
When she went to Sunday mass

And when she went up to receive
G
I'd kneel down to watch her pass
D
The glory of her ass

G C
I useta love her I useta love her once

A long, long time ago
G C
I useta love her I useta love her once

A long, long time ago

F Bb C
Now it's gone, all my lovin' is gone
F Bb C
Oh it's gone all my lovin' is gone

Line Breaks

They look like this:
In plain english,

  1. Go to the end of the line.
  2. Hold down the SHIFT key.
  3. Press the COMMA (,) key. This will type the < ("Less Than") character.
  4. Type the letters BR.
  5. Hold down the SHIFT key again.
  6. Type the PERIOD (.) key. This will type the > ("Greater Than") character.
  7. You have now typed ...
!
  8. Repeat the process at the end of every line.

For the advanced course, you can "CUT AND PASTE" the
, thereby saving yourself

all that typing. To do that:

  1. Move your mouse so that the cursor is RIGHT BEFORE the < character.
  2. Press and hold down the LEFT mouse button.
  3. Drag the mouse to the right until you pass the > character, and the whole
phrase is highlighted.

  4. On the menu bar, click on EDIT, then on COPY. You have now "copied" the
phrase to your computer's "clipboard".

  5. Position your mouse at the end of a line.
  6. Click there with your LEFT mouse button.
  7. Click EDIT on the menu bar, then PASTE. VOILA!
  8. Repeat the process wherever you want a line break.

TRY IT! It's WAY easier than it sounds!

Trapper, thanks for the detailed explanation. It was certainly helpful to me, as I know it was for Dan, given that he's slightly retarded. We're still trying to get him to tune.

Noreen : they are in the 'Lyrics tae Irish Songs' thread - I've no idea how to link to a thread or I'd do that for you.

Dan: I'm sure the chords are fairly straight-forward so I'l try the above.

Thanks all.

Thanks, Seany! I Useta Love her

The URL for the page you are looking at will be at the top of your screen- you can just cut and paste that. Or to link to a specific post within a thread, right-click on the time of posting in the list under the thread title, select 'Copy Shortcut' from the menu that appears, then paste that where you want it. Try it!

Still a great song.
