Can anyone help with the words to a Colin Dryden song 'Turning Steel', I've a version by Vin Garbutt, but I'm not sure it's completely accurate.

I've turned a lot of it on a lathe, including stainless varieties (300 and 400 series. 400 series springs are better handed on a grinder), but never found anything there to sing about.

I have a couple of very minor variations of Mario's DT version, but as I recall Vin uses a lively sort of upbeat tune, whereas the tune I have perhaps suits the mood of the song better.

I have no idea which tune, if either, is the original, but I'll gladly sing my one for you in one of the palTalk Mudcat rooms
