11 Apr 01 - 10:20 AM (#438045) Subject: The Salt From: Troll I'm looking for the tune called "The Salt". It was done by Kevin Coneff on a Chieftans tour about eight years ago. I've found it in the DT (although the song that comes up under "S" is not the right one) but I do not have the melody. A CD where it is recorded would be fine or the music in standard notation as I have access to musicians who are paper trained. troll |

Sorcha, I think that you are probably right. I heard it in concert. I wish there was a way to contact Kevin Coneff and ask him. troll |

12 Apr 01 - 01:19 AM (#438788) Subject: RE: Tune Req: The Salt From: Sorcha I looked and looked for a booking address for the Chieftans so you could e mail Kevin and (maybe) ask him. No luck. Tomorrow I will e mail the Aunt who works for Walnut Valley Festival and ask her. WVA has booked the Chieftans since Kevin joined them. We'll see. |

It is quite old but if you don't mind the bad quality I'll post it to you. I know that I have the tape but first of all I have to find it ;-) The melody is very simple I could sing it right away. But a. you wouldn't hear it and b. my colleagues would kill me *g*. My email address is webmaster@cantalibre.de Regards Sabine |
