17 Nov 97 - 10:11 PM (#16323) Subject: Some elusive Billie Holiday songs From: murray@mpce.mq.edu.au This is on the borderline of Folk Music; but Billie Holiday was played on the folk stations in the '60s so there might be some interest. There are two songs that I thought were done by her, but that I can't find in any discographies. One is called something like "Blue Monday". Legend has it that it caused so many suicides that some stations wouldn't play it. The other is called (or has in it) "Little White Blossom (or Flower)." Perhaps They were not done by her, but then whoever did the versions I am thinking of was very Billie Holiday-ish. Thanks, Murray |
