The play we've been given to do this project for is Equus, a highly disturbing tale of psychological problems, the coldness and sterility of the modern world, and the search for passion and worship in life. One of the tasks of sound design is to come up with pre-show music, and I'm having one hell of a time thinking of what might be appropriate for this show. Do any of you wonderful knowledgeable folks perchance have ideas? |

It's been quite a while since I've seen or read the play, but I seem to remember a biting undercurrent of ironic humour at times. I've chosen to work more with mood than period, so I'm not real worried about the whole "1973" thing. I'm going to start looking into y'all's suggestions this afternoon--thanks! |

Do you want them relaxed at the rise of the curtain (assuming they don't know the play), so that they're jolted all the more as the disturbing elements emerge, or do you want them a bit on edge in anticipation of the same? |
