The tune is a reel called "The Otter's Holt." The Irish group The Bothy Band recorded it on their second album, "Old Hag, You Have Killed Me."

The rhythm in the reel is the usual 4/4 metre, as opposed to the song's 3/4.

Whoa...I'm wrong about the song rhythm. Just listened to it again. It's 4/4, but more like a jaunty hornpipe rhythm than the reel. Got the tune right, though.

Several versions of Otter's Holt can be found at Walshaws' web wide abc index, Click here Wait for the page to load, then use the Edit/find button. You need to be able to read or have a translate program for ABC notation..and change the key to suit yourself. Andy sings in C#minor a lot. It suits his voice.

It was also recorded by Joanie Madden (of Cherish the Ladies) on the albumn: Song of the Irish Whistle. (vol. 1)
