Lyr Req: Island Men? / Shipyard Slips

Who can help with the lyrics to the song "The Island Men" and also tell me who wrote it?

The chorus goes as follows, although I´m guessing a bit from memory:

I´ve spent my time with the island men
And I´ve known good times and work a plenty
But there´s no work now in these troubled times
And the shipyard´s slips are lying empty

Thanks in advance.

Often, a search for a title given on a record gets nowhere because either (1) the title on the record is wrong or (2) it's been posted here under a different name.  Best to go for an easily-identifiable phrase.  If you were to type shipyard slips into the very useful "Digitrad and Forum Search" on the main Forum page, one of the references you'd get would be to this discussion from a couple of years back:

Shipyard Slips

The song has been posted here several times, with attribution.

Thanks Malcom for putting me in the right direction.

I used to sing this song in the 70´s and I suppose for the usual reasons of wanting to move on in ones repertoire I ceased singing it. However, now I would like to reintroduce it into my programme. Good songs never die!

Cheers
