03 Dec 97 - 05:26 PM (#17051) Subject: Ballad of the brown Mountain Lights From: Gary Graham This Ballad is about a Pioneer who came across the Appalachian Mts. and was lost near Linville NC. The Ghost lights are still seen on Brown Mt. and are supposed to be the ghost of his slave still searching for him to this day. I originally heard the song in the 1960's sung by the country singer Call Smith. I have been searching for the lyrics for years, but have not been able to find them. |

It is on Rounder Records and the name of the recording is "TOny Rice Sings and Plays Bluegrass". You should be able to find it at any music store carrying bluegrass recordings. The lyrics, music , and singing is great. |
