Lyr/Chords Req: Poor Boy

I found this song on my hard drive (MP3) and I can't remember where I found it or anything about it.I know, I should have referenced it. It is really a great bluesy, guitar pickin, great song to listen to and to learn.

I don't know how to let everyone hear it, but if you have an Idea, let me know.

I would love to find about this song and even learn to do it. Jeep

Sorry about the duplicate thread. I forgot to include some words.,

POOR BOY,POOR BOY, WHAT A SORRY SIGHT TO SEE.

Sounds like E. Clapton but I can't match him to it. Jeep

Not the Split Enz song "Poor Boy"?

The crackle of the radio
A message in the evening sky
You're looking at an interplantary Romeo

Could this be it? (If not, the lyrics might be worth harvesting anyway.)

Running On Faith
(by Jerry Lynn Williams)

Lately I've been running on faith
What else can a poor boy do?
But my world will be right
When love comes over you

Lately I've been talking in my sleep
I can't imagine what I'd have to say
Except my world will be right
When love comes back your way

I've always been
One to take each and every day
Seems like by now
I'd find a love who cares just for me

Then we'd go running on faith
All of our dreams would come true
And our world will be right
When love comes over me and you

Chorus:
Then we'd go running on faith
All of our dreams would come true
And our world will be right
When love comes over me and you
When love comes over you.

How about the one that starts:

I'm a poor boy,
I'm a poor boy.
I'm a poor boy and a lo-ong way from home.
I'm a poor boy and a lo-ong way from home.

There's more to it, on a Dyer-Bennett album in my cabinets.

Well, there's also "Poor Boy" by Nick Drake on "Bryter Later," but I doubt that's what you're looking for. He sings "Poor boy, so sorry for himself" rather than "what a sorry sight to see." Do a Google search for Nick Drake lyrics and you'll find a few sites with the lyrics to this song, if you want to check. Best, Margaret

John Fahey does a fine version of a tune with this name. I believe it is on Volume 3 of his work ont he Tacoma label. It is, big surprise, an instrumental. It is also on disc # 1 of the two volume compilation of his work on Rounder Records (The Return of the Repressed) which is a real good all-around synoptic source for his work.
