Hey. I need some help! My friends and I have started a band and we havent got a name! we are all about 15 years old (so no dodgy names please!!) and we play celtic rock music. There is a fiddler (thats me!), pipes, guitars and drums. We need a name soon cuz we will be getting some gigs soon but no one can think of any names!! The only thing i ask of you all is that its a scottish name because we are all scottish! thank you all so much! I look forward to the results!

If you play Celtic music, you could simply call yourselves "Boston," but I doubt that would play in Scotland.

A witty friend of mine once wrote a whole pseudo-Celtic poem which was in fact totally meaningless. I have always remembered the line, "Across the hodg-ed webbings of the geel, cry in the slueg waestrel..." and the sort of chorus: "The toonkas wail, 'Hie-glay, hie-glay.'"

The Toonkas
?? The Hodg-ed (archaic Shakespearian ending) Webbings??

Clan McPlayers??

I always liked Wells Fargo (thought it was a good stage name!!!)

One of the bands I play with is called The "Wyre Pier Band" - Its based in the Fylde area of Lancashire England and the Wyre river runs through it - the river doesn't have a pier (a bit like Wigan)the band name of course could be pronounced as "Why appear band".

Mac Inmusik (makes a change fro Mac Intyres (ala Dun Cow))

Good Luck !!!!

Pete

I like Foolish Notion... the end of the one quote that most of us in the US can attribute to Burns, I won't try to approximate the dialect...

Oh, what some power the giftie gie us, to see ourselves as others see us... It would from many a blunder free us, and, foolish notion.
