Saw Richard Stilgoe on 'This is your Life' last night. I must admit he has gone up in my estimation - a very witty ditty writer as well as those musicals. He sang a song with Peter Skeller about the 'Ground Force' transforming his garden which was very funny. Would any one out there possibly have the words?

Thank you nutty but the show only featured a small extract of the song - but even that would be good.

and

Lilly an' Thompson, Australias finest flower
A maiden bowling overs at a hundred miles an hour
She bowls 'em at your ankles
She bowls 'em at you forehead
If she bowls them in the middle
It could hurt you something horrid

Or words to that effect, it's been a long time.

Cheers Gary

He's still an arrogant, small minded, rude goose-stepping fascist arsehole though. pray you never have to work with him. But yes, very funny. Personal favourite is "I had a big black stallion" in the style of Jake Thackray.

He's very good at making anagrams of people's names, and came up with Giscard O'Hitler for himself. I guess you think it's quite apt, English John.

BTW was it Stilgoe who turned Virginia Bottomley into I'm an evil Tory bigot? Perhaps this could be a thread on its own - mudcat and folk anagrams.
