08 Jun 01 - 06:51 AM (#479083) Subject: Richard Stilgoe From: GUEST,D_hand Saw Richard Stilgoe on 'This is your Life' last night. I must admit he has gone up in my estimation - a very witty ditty writer as well as those musicals. He sang a song with Peter Skeller about the 'Ground Force' transforming his garden which was very funny. Would any one out there possibly have the words? |

But yes, very funny. Personal favourite is "I had a big black stallion" in the style of Jake Thackray. EJ |
08 Jun 01 - 09:10 AM (#479145) Subject: RE: Richard Stilgoe From: Snuffy He's very good at making anagrams of people's names, and came up with Giscard O'Hitler for himself. I guess you think it's quite apt, English John. BTW was it Stilgoe who turned Virginia Bottomley into I'm an evil Tory bigot? Perhaps this could be a thread on its own - mudcat and folk anagrams. |
