WHEN ALL OF GOD'S SINGERS GET HOME
Luther G. Presley & Virgil O. Stamps

What a song of delight in that City so bright
Will be wafted 'neath Heaven's fair dome!
How the ransomed will raise happy songs in His praise,
When all of God's singers get home!

CHORUS:
When all of God's singers get home,
Where never a sorrow will come;
There'll be "no place like home,"
When all of God's singers get home.

As We sing here on earth, songs of sadness or mirth,
'Tis a foretaste of rapture to come.
But our joy can't compare with the glory up there,
When all of God's singers get home!

Having overcome sin, "Hallelujah, AMEN!"
Will be heard in that land o'er the foam;
Every heart will be light and each face will be bright--
When all of God's singers get home!

CHORDS:
(F)What a song of delight in that City so bright
Will be wafted 'neath (Bb)Heaven's (F)fair (C)dome!
How the (C7)ransomed will raise happy (F)songs in His praise,

Gaither Homecoming Hour

There is a monologue by Gloria Gaither that goes with this:

"I like to think that before time began, before the world was created or galaxies flung into space, there was God-- and He was singing a song. The music was so beautiful that it had to be heard. So God created... and down through the ages He's always had His singers who picked up fragments of the melody, hummed bits harmony, wrote phrases of poetry, or danced short movements.

"No one has ever heard the whole song since that day God sang it alone. But one of these days He will gather all His children home, and one by one the singers of all the ages will lift their voices and fill in the parts life taught to them. At last we'll hear love's sweetest song as it was first conceived in the heart of the great song writer Himself. It will be perfect. What music there will be when the song of the ages is sung around the Father's throne when all of God's singers get home!"

Gaither Homecoming Hour on US cable, I believe it was the Memphis one...

I'll search it up online at the Gaither site for you tomorrow if you want to get the CD it's on.

Or PM me your address and when we do it in church I'll make you a field recording of it.

It is REALLY pretty. Slow, majestic, simple, lovely.

There is another lovely song called "When All Redeemed Singers Get Home." I heard it long years ago at Augusta Vocal Week, let's see if I can remember any of it:

CHORUS:
Then oh what a wonderful, wonderful singing
When all redeeemed singers get home
Reunion, reunion through ages still ringing
When all redeemed singers get home.

Awake O my brothers and sing this sweet story
For soon a reunion will come
Then oh what a wonderful singing in Glory
When all redeemed singers get home.

No mortal can ever conceive of the beauty
That awaits the redeemed ones at Home.
Be sure, oh my brothers, you live up to duty
For soon the Redeemer will come. [Reunion?]

... There's another verse. Please forgive any errors. The woman who sang it is a friend of a friend and was a regular at Vocal Week, I think her name may have been April. I like the tune and the feeling of it very well. If anyone wants, I'll see if I can chase down the other verse and the source, which was an old hymnal from her family's church.
