25 Jun 01 - 02:03 AM (#491156) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: wexford boyes From: GUEST,Mariner I think it must be the P.J.McCall song The Boys of Wexford you refer to. I've never heard anything called Wexford Boys and definitely nothing called Wexford Boyes that sounds a bit "stage Irish" to me. Ian Campbell Group recorded it many years ago as did Luke Kelly, with The Dubliners , I think. Bought may still be available on C.D. If you do get it, please note that in the line that includes the words Bargy Man, the word Bargy is not pronounced Barge-ee as Kelly and others call it, bur Bar- Ghi, ghi as in that butter concoction. Hope this is of help. From a born Bargy Man, Mariner. |

"The Wexford Boys is a collaboration between two of the Philadelphia area's up-and- coming folk musicians, Robert Flaherty (guitars, mandolin and vocals) and Jason Pfeiffer (Irish whistles, flutes and bodhran). Together, they bring more than 20 years of musical experience to the stage, along with a diversity of styles and influences. The two began their musical relationship in 1997, when they performed together as part of the award-winning traditional Celtic folk group, Gaoth Agus Rithim...." (The Wexford Boys) ~Masato
