This includes some major sites like Google. Anybody else noticing such problems, or know if there's a problem with the web itself today. |

It could be a routing problem in the internet itself. Typically you pass through a whole web of connections to get to a particular site. If something along the route to a particular site is down or overloaded you may get a delay or no response at all. Sometimes an alternative route will be found round the obstacle, sometimes not. Maybe this could explain why you can access some sites and not others? I used to have a freeware programme that traced such routes but deleted it as it wouldn't work through our proxy server at work. Now we have direct ADSL connections I might reinstall it. mooman |

Just go to that site and type in the URL you are trying to access there, and it will be accessed via a diferent route than if you were going direct via your ISP. If you can get to Safeweb but not to the other site, then the problem is probably with the site itself. Other easy things to try, are clearing your browser cache and removing all proxy settings your browser is set to. (Depending on your ISP's use of same>. Call your ISP tech support for specific settings. They (we) spend most of their time solving peoples' "connect-can't-browse" issues. Usually pretty easy, as long as you have your Windows CD handy.
