Subject: Pete Seeger Tribute on Paltalk
From: Francy

The Toledo Folk Music Group room on Paltalk, will prresent a musical tribute to one of Folk Music's best, Pete Seeger on Sunday, July 29th at 6pm EST. We will be having some interesting interviews, following Pete's musical history, many original recordings by Pete and some live performances of songs written by,or associated with Pete. We welcome everyone to join us. If you would like to participate with some stories of Pete, or would like to sing some of his songs, please let me know here or Email me a list of the songs you would like to sing (maximum 4 per person). First come first selected on the songs. We had fun on the Woody Guthrie celebration and there's no reason why the next one shouldn't be as good....Frank of Toledo(Francy)

Well, I downloaded the stuff to do this. Now I've got to find a microphone. THEN, Frank told me where I could plug it -- but my doctor told me it'll never work.

What gives?

And thanks for including me in the Guthrie program. I'm sorry I didn't have it together enough to hear that one.

Hope I have the Paltalk thing down by then. Do I need a password, or anything? -- MA

When the Seeger kids were small, they attended the Silver Spring Cooperative Nursery School (in Maryland) with me. Their step-mom Ruth Crawford Seeger came in and gave us all singing lessons---it worked with Pete, Mike and Peggy---unfortunately I never was able to remember lyrics and tunes the way they could. One of the boys (I think it was Pete) had a phenomenal memory when it came to all the verses in one of the Child ballads about one brother murdering another. He deviled his brother with it.

That is a wonderful story Pat. Thanks for posting it.

Frank..I enjoyed singing with you last weekend at Barbara's. If I can get my DSL modem reprogrammed for PalTalk I'll give a listen..sounds great.

Frank, I seriously need to know which time. That was not just a pleasantry. We here in Indiana don't change time with the seasons, so part of the year we're in synch with the East, and right now with Central. I have to know what time to work toward, so that I can be on hand, ready to sing.
