from BLENDING VOICES - The World of Music (1936) - a new acquisition from the auction...

DRAKE
(English Sea Song)

No dar-ing man be-fore him
A-round the globe had sailed
Yet o'er the force of un-known seas
the stur-dy Gold-en Hind pre-vailed
All gales out-fac-ing
fur-rows trac-ing
Back to Plym-outh town
Drake came bold-ly rac-ing

He dou-bled in his jour-ney
The capes where ships are lost
He sailed the spic-y east-ern seas
where gal-lant ships are rolled and tossed
all risk de-fy-ing
Fame un-dy-ing
Crowned hom as he came home
With col-ors fly-ing

Well, you might have added that this is the well-known "Can't You Dance the Polka" tune. Are these the only verses?

these are the only verses given, nor could I find any others in a web-search.

The tune was completely new and unfamiliar to me, so I had no way of knowing that it is well-known; or I quite probably would have mentioned it. Thanks for the additonal information.
