Bobby's girl's 2 daughters will be there for the 3rd & 4th time respectively. They are among the furthest travelled as they will be going all the way from Portland

Folkworks (one word) is the Folk Music development agency for the North East of England, and a very fine bunch of people they are, too. (It's headed by Alastair Anderson and Roz Rigby.)

However this thread refers to their Youth Summer School, which is one of their major activities.

Aside from its excellent "musical" work, I believe it was the first Folk agency in the UK to obtain Arts Council funding, and it has done a tremendous job of getting the Arts "establishment" to see Folk music as being as valid as any other musical genre.

I am going to Adult summer school (which also starts Monday) doing solo song. Arriving with tent Sunday afternoon hoping for a good sing Sunday evening to get vocal chords going for the course. See some of you there no doubt Cheers John

Folkworks also boasts the splendid David Oliver amongst the top brass, good man himself. Sadly, can't go, meself, but hopefully will make the autumn workout weekend.
