Tonight, tonight, get a little closer to you. It's very cold outside, tonight. It's very warm in here with you. Tonight, tonight, get a little closer, to you. Chorus And then we're on our way, we take a day. We make a little time. We're high up here above the road and big windows are eyelids open into snow. It don't take long to get a ride. They see you shivering by the roadside: "Get in , get in, it's really freezin'" I can't hear a word what he's sayin'. The Scottish driver's got no teeth. He talks and talks about his children. He talks and talks right up to Stockton. CHORUS And then we're on our way, we take a day. We make a little time. We're high up here above the road and big windows are eyelids open into snow. And then we're on our way, we take a day. We make a little time. We're high up here above the road and big windows are eyelids open into snow. And you're sleeping in the corner of the cab….. When you waken up, we're driving into snow…. And the driver's thoughts are driving him, they're driving him, they're driving us….. On and on. It's a long jump down to the pavement. I turn around and help you down. We're miles and miles to the north, now. It don't take long to get a ride. They see you shivering by the roadside. You can hear them say: "Get in, get in, it's really freezin' You can hear them say: "Get in, get in, it's really freezin' You can hear them say: "Get in, get in, it's really freezin' You can hear them say: "Get in, get in, it's really freezin' CHORUS And then we're on our way, we take a day. We make a little time. We're high up here above the road and big windows are eyelids open into snow. And then we're on our way, we take a day. We make a little time. We're high up here above the road and big windows are eyelids open into snow. B. |

28 May 07 - 07:49 PM (#2062687) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Eyelids Into Snow - Sonny Condell From: Declan Nick, If no-one has come back with the lyricks or a pointer to them in the meantime, I'll transcribe the lyrics on here in the next few days. Scullion did a residency for a couple of years in "The Meeting Place" in Dublin on a Monday night, when I was a regular punter there. It's a shame their great music never quite made it to a wider audience. From memory "Eyelids into Snow" was the name of a compilation CD of their work which was brought out a few years back. |

I see he knows, I see he knows we're old friends Take the touch of my hand as a warning, fair warning. Gazelle, as the lion creeps Pricks his ears, and then he's on the run Lying in bed, dreaming that I am homeless, A refugee Out in the burning desert. Fair warning, fair warning From the Album "Scullion: Balance and Control (WEA 1980) Produced by John Martyn |
