Name For Group

Some friends of mine and I are forming a group to do the old traditional songs that are not heard much anymore. We are all into bluegrass but think that something a little different is what we want.

We have 4 so far. Two of us are old as dirt while the others are still sprouts. They are very talented on Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo. I am still talent challenged but still try to pick and sing.

We need a name. HELP. Jeep Man

How about "Ussens?"

No, actually you also need to check back on some old threads about "Name Our Band" or something like that....we've had a few and they may be interesting in addition to whatever pops up here......Enter (name) without the parentheses in the filter box and refresh for two years.

Bill Sables is also Older than Dirt, and plays with two very talented sprouts, Sam and Ian. They called their album "Bridging the Gap", but I'm not sure if that's intended to be the name of their band or not. Maybe something that refers to the age spread that you have (I mean that the band has! I wasn't referring to your spare tire!!!)

Another possibility is to modify the word "grass" with something new. We've heard about newgrass and dawg-grass--maybe something else that tries that trick.

Let's see....."Gandy Dancer", Countryman's Pleasures, Fiddler's Fancy, Rabid Racoons, Skunk Hollow Serenaders, ............the mind boggles.

Hmm! I don't know what style of playing you favor (as distinct from genre), but "Finger Pluckers" rolls off the tongue pretty easy. Might want to be sure it's a sober tongue, tho.
