I tried to post this message with the song that drives me crazy thread and for whatever reason the internet fairies wouldn't cooperate with me. I am trying again. If you are reading this then I was successful. I do apologize for knowing and even posting these lyrics but after all, you asked for them:

I don't care what they say,
I am gonna keep it anyway.
I won't let them stretch their necks
To see my little black egg
With the little white specks.

I found it in a tree
Just the other day,
And now it's mine all mine.
They can't take it away.

Oh, goldurn! What can I do?
The little black egg is gonna tell on you.
I won't let them stretch their necks
To see my little black egg
With the little white specks.
My little black egg.
My little black egg.
My little black egg with the little white specks.

Again please accept my deepest apologies. Sometimes I am quite proud of my memory. There are other times when I see no use for it at all.

I'm not sure just why you are apologizing, and I'm not sure what you want? Is it the rest of the lyrics?

I was hoping he was wanting it to be totally forgotten and banished from the earth.....No such luck though...........Gawd I hated that song, still do!

Thank you so much for this! It was popular when I was in Junior High School, and was part of a long disappeared garage band music culture along with other, better known, but slightly less bizarre songs like "Woolly Bully" and "96 Tears"(why am I telling you, you had to have been there!)--Oddly enough, I still remember most of the melody and chords, except the "I found it in a tree" part--for some reason they never play it on the oldies stations--

No problem Bart.....We have a room you can share with M.Ted at the NYCFTTS. BTW, we're almost out of tiples at the moment....How about some Nose Flute therapy instead?

Why did the chicken cross the road?? To get away from "Little Black Egg."

While crossing the road, I think the chicken backed into Spaw's trailer hitch--and, by the way, don't worry about not having an instrument t'play--I am bringing 9 ukuleles--

M. Ted - perhaps you are mistook. Could the voice in your head have said "Bring nein ukeleles", rather than "Bring nine ukeleles"?

And by the way, if we're going to be roommates I thought you should know that I'll need some space for my Farfisa organ, Teisco Delray guitar, Sears Silvertone amp, and Bogan PA w/Shure vocalmaster speakers.

First jamjohnne, I want to thank you for bringing this ditty back up from the dregs and onto the somewhat shallowsurface of my memory. For the 24 hours this incredible piece of crap has been going through my head.............I'm groovin' up from the den, "...my little black egg with the little white spec".....

AAARRRRGGGGHHH

Should I ever meet you I will kick your balls.........

Second, M.TED......I think we need a thread on "Garage Band Culture." I mean, how could you forget...........

G--L--O--R--I--A
GLOOOOOOOOOOOOO...REE-AH"

...........or "Wipeout"......Was there even the worst drummer who didn't play that????

First off Spaw I must let you know that I have no balls. I am of the female persuasion. Thanks for aknowledging my post. I have been lurking for awhile and finally got the nerve to voice some of my opinions and limited knowledge.

Spaw,

I didn't forget Gloria, Wipeout, Hey Joe, Farmer John, Psychotic Reaction, and the Garage Punk Anthem, "Louie, Louie"--I can still rattle off the set lists, more than thirty years later--

There should be a thread, maybe even a PermaThread, because most of these middle aged(and aging fast) musician types with their rosewood guitars and Fingerpickier-than-thou-art attitudes started out by hacking this stuff in out the garage and strutting their stuff at "Teen Dances" and even at "The Battle of the Bands"--

I can't start this thread now, because the cable guy is here(he accidentally disconnected my phone service, and spent the whole morning trying to connect digital cable, which he now claims he can't do because he doesn't have a work order to replace a signal splitter which will take five minutes, and means I will have to schedule another appointment and go through this again in two weeks--

Johnne,

Spaw would probably be the first to say that the fact that you are a woman doesn't mean you have no balls--So, welcome! If you have lots of opinions and limited knowledge, you'll fit right in!!

Welcome to the 'Cat!!! Great place and we'll be looking for more from you!

I guess you might say that balls are in the eyes of the beholder. . .Welcome aboard, johnne.

Let me add "I fought the Law", "Black is Black", "Sheila" & "Everybody" by the much underrated Tommy Roe, "She's About a Mover" by the Sir Douglas Quintet, and any song from the Tommy James and the Shondells catalogue. . .
