This is in reaction to the exposure that William Shatner has been getting on the Cat. What i want to know is who do you think was better Patrick Stewart ( the worlds most famous Yorkshireman) as Jean Luc Picard or as Professor X in the X-Men movie. My votes in for Picard.

Well he certainly got more exposure as Jean Luc Picard. So on that trak record I'll cast my vote for Jean Luc.

Although I do rather like the poster I have of him. He's standing looking straight at the camera holding a book, William Shakespeare, in his hand. The poster says

"Discover the Feeling.

Learn to read.

Patrick Stewart for Literacy and Libraries."

I can see him smiling at me right now. I like that.

Of course the other diffculty is that in the X-men I wasn't looking at Prof X, Wolverine was a LOT more interesting.

Pardon me, I am just going to nip into a cold shower....

His best role was the bodyguard in Dune!

He made a good Professor Xavier, a fine Jean Luc Picard. I liked him better as Gurney Halleck in the awful Dune and as a potential Knight in Excalibur best.

You forget that he was Guniviers (sp?) father, Leon De Grance, in Excalibur... riding around, shouting at everyone ALL THE TIME!!!

LOL!!

I wanna know what the hell instrument he thought he was laying in Dune, as Gurney Halleck?!?! That sorta chapman stick lookin' thing...

Clinton,

I remember a lot, just not everything. The instru, ent in Dune was called a Ballisette in the book I don't recall a name from the movie.

so that's 3 for Jean Luc and none for Prof. X. Hmmm Sophocleese you get the hots for small furry, viscious animals with adamantium laced skeletons eh? Well someones got to love Canada's only succesful superhero ( apart from Captain Canuck that is)

Hey AliUK I get the "hots for small furry, viscious animals with adamantium laced skeletons" when they are played by Hugh Jackman. Played by Jim Carrey, say, I'd probably throw up.

LOL!!!!

Thanks Don... Ballisette... I used to know that... but it's been too long since I read Dune...

Anyone else here heard his one man show "A Christmas Carol"? I hear the "book on tape" is fantastic! He's got an incredible voice goin' for him... too bad he's soooooo dull in the physical end of things...

I could listen to Patrick Stewart talk all day and all night, and would definately have to vote for him as Picard - "Make it so!"
