I heard Pete Sutherland do it about 10 years ago at the Fiddle Tunes Festival. Not sure if he wrote it. If I can dig up the tape I'll post the words, but no doubt somebody will beat me to it. Let's see, the chorus went something like this:

Whoopee-ti-yi-yo, get a job, you old hippie
Trade your [denim and leather?] for a coat and a tie
Whoopie-ti-yi-yo, get upwardly mobile
For the almighty dollar will be your new high

Very 80s.

Aloha,
Mark

I recall the second line of the chorus as

Trade your dungaree jacket for a suit and a tie

Right you are, Jacob. Now all we need are the verses. I can hear Pete singing them in my mind, but the words are, in the words of our favorite Texan, blurrified.

Aloha,
Mark

So now we're up to:

Whoopee-ti-yi-yo, get a job, you old hippie
Trade your dungaree jacket for a suit and a tie
Whoopie-ti-yi-yo, get upwardly mobile
For the almighty dollar will be your new high

Anyone have any verses out there?
