Can anybody write that phonetically in gaelic? You know, lots of h´s and u´s and stuff. All help appreciated!!J. |

The "ow" sound as in "cow" is hard to express in the language. Secondly the "h"s you long far generally do things to consonants that don't tie in with the sound you want! Let me think about it. The Irish for book is leabhar, pronounced l-ow-er (thats ow as in ouch)hence the ceabh. Generally abh in Irish has the ow sound. Hope this helps. |

Perhaps with just a little effort, you could make it a double entendre. For instance, a pooka is a magical horse/water sprite in Irish mythology. Apropos the sensitivity bit (in self-defence)- I´ve got another band that concentrates very heavily on the purer side of celtic music and its doing pretty well. The idea behind this new one is to make it more fun and try and get the music to a wider audience. Which does not mean we dont give the music the respect it deserves. And if I hear of another band called Raglan Road or Masons Apron I´m gonna go and jump in the Limmey! J. |
