I wandered into Border's last night trailing my eighteen year old son on his weekly outing for new music and to my delight discovered "Hamilton Ironworks." John has twenty three tunes on this CD and it is looooonnnng.

John pays tribute to the fiddlers influencing him, such as Gene Goforth, Roy Wooliver, and Clifford Hawthorne. Many of the tunes are recognizably Ozarkian in style. He even plays "White River." I am enjoying it!!!! I recommend it to our favorite mud fiddlers---Kim and Mary...and the rest of you'all.

P.S. Florida is empty right now, folks! A great time to visit...The Suwannee is flowing well, the canoeing is refreshingly brisk, and the springs are cold. (In spite of the aligators I sleep out in the woods!) Dade City Sertoma Ranch will have a dulcimer fest weekend in February: sweetest smelling city in Florida!!! love, hargirl

...Hi Art I didn't go. I couldn't give four whole days of volunteer work and so I gave up my spot to someone else. Besides, I don't want Linda Siglin to see me until I've lost weight. she thought I was fat fifteen years ago!
