09 Nov 01 - 04:01 AM (#588822) Subject: RE: Bedworth FF 23-25 Nov 2001 From: JudeL Is there lots of fringe stuff? and is there somewhere to park a caravan other than the official (pay for whole festival) site? Jude |
09 Nov 01 - 04:48 AM (#588839) Subject: RE: Bedworth FF 23-25 Nov 2001 From: alanww No, I'm sorry Jude, but I don't think there's a lot of fringe stuff. Last year Snuffy and I went without a ticket and found that, if we had wanted to play there were one or two bars in pubs, but as singers we couldn't get into the folk club room over the main pub or the Civic Centre sings. We were reduced to going to the coffee/beer bar at the Civic Hall and having a sing with typically between 6 to 12 others. A few people stayed on for a while but most just called in between concert/ceili sessions. I'm also not sure of the options for parking a caravan, as it is a town centre location. Sorry to be the bearer of gloomy tidings; it would be nice to see you again! I went down to Sammy's Bar ... |

10 Nov 01 - 09:16 AM (#589638) Subject: RE: Bedworth FF 23-25 Nov 2001 From: JudeL Oh well, it was a thought. We may come anyway - it's just that having bought the caravan it seems a shame not to use it and what with one thing and another (such as other festivals, fixing the car and the trip to Germany) it seems to have been a very expensive year. |

We danced in the Civic on Saturday morn
Come day, go day,
That night in the Art Centre theatre we sat
Come day, go day, wish in my heart it weren't Sunday
And then to the Scout hut to sing some more songs
Come day, go day,
But remember in Bedworth at festival time
Come day, go day, There you go, Ali. Difference being, that this year the Shellbacks are leading the Sunday morning survivors' sing, so Bedworth on a Sunday 2001 will be THE place to be! |
