Bush El Jefe

He may botch the English language worse than a trailer park Bubba, but you got to admit that Bush is one badass cowboy SOB. It will be a long time before Afghan serves as a base for terrorism. Once he is through with Afghanistan and Bin Laden is in a cage or has served as bayonet practice for grunts who do you think is next on his wish list?

I would like to see him turn his bully pulpit toward America. Much of what others country decry in us is unfortunately true..the pornography, drug use, promiscuity etc. And I am starting to find out how widespread sexual abuse of children seems to be in my corner of the world. I would like him/them to say, we are going to find you, we are going to remove you from your homes and we are going to put you where you cannot harm anyone. If your wife/husband cannot meet your needs, terminate the relationship and find other adult companionship. If that does not satisfy you, turn yourself into the nearest jail and we will protect you from your impulses. If your religion will not allow you to divorce someone under these circumstances, terminate your religious affiliation. And then we are going to turn our attention on those who harbor you...and fail to report your suspected activities, and who say "oh but I love him/her," ....teachers and doctors who fail to report, social workers who do not get the person out of the home, lawmakers who fail to write sufficient laws.... mg

Here's the conundrum, GUEST,Beowulf...

Cowboy Bush can't do what he says he wants to do, ie: eliminating terrorism, without the help of a lot of countries besides the US.

However, if he starts trying to take on other countries besides Afghanistan, the other countries that are giving the US support in Afghanistan will start to drop away and some will probably even become enemies themselves. Some countries whose help we need have already warned the US that we should not extend the attacks beyond Afghanistan or they would stop providing help for this effort.

So Cowboy Bush is going to have to decide which is more important... stopping terrorism, or engaging a large portion of the rest of the world in a big war. He can't do both.

He certainly can't stop terrorism by trying to impose the will of the US over the rest of the world whether they like it or not. The only way that would work would be for the US to impose a totalitarian regime of absolute control over all of the nations of the earth. I believe some people have attempted to do this a few times already, without success, during some previous wars.

Old Chinese saying: Live by gun, die by gun.

Ever known any Old Cowboys (the kind you are referring to?) At the Cop Shop we call them Hot Dogs.......with more than one meaning.

Of course alot of people (especially terrorists and those that support them) do not want to see the war extend beyond Afghanistan. Too bad, the party has already started and the house is about to be put in order. Trying to keep everyone happy is what has led to increasing terrorist attacks over the last two decades. The era of appeasement is over. And fear not about losing support. If Israel can kick ass in several wars against half the Arab world with only material support from the outside, I don't think that Badass Bush has much to worry about. And it is true that a lot of cowboys don't die of old age, but they sure as hell outlive the outlaws. Now back to my original question. Who is next?

Well, Beowolf, Mgarvey won't get her wish because the problem she/he describes, which is a real one, is a local issue, not federal.

CarolC: you have sort of favored a world government, haven't you? (referring of course to the next to the last sentence in your final paragraph. :>)

DougR, I hardly think I was favoring it. I was speaking of the likes of Hitler his ilk in that sentance and saying that that sort of thing most definitily does not work.

I'm getting the impression that you just skim over my posts without actually reading them, because you usually get the opposite meaning from the one I'm trying to convey, and you almost invariably put words in my mouth that are not mine.

GUEST,Beowulf, all I can say is that it's a damn good thing you're not running the show. Don't know if the ones who are running it are any better. It's a little too early to tell about that yet.
